The movie starts with Chris (Daniel Kaluuya) and Rose (Allison Williams) going to visit Rose's parents in his village.
It turns out Rose's parents are very rich with a bunch of wealthy circles. They made a gathering to coincide when Chris and Rose visited.
Looks like the Rose family is not very racist, even accepts Chris (which is an Afro-American) with arms wide open. But they were disappointed to find out that Chris was a smoker. Rose's mother, Missy (Catherine Keener) is a hypnotist who then uses her skill to make Chris stop smoking.
