Movie Spoiler: Upgrade (2018) In Three Minutes

Please Turn On Closed Captions On For Subtitle!

Hello, movie lovers who are lazy to watch movies. At first, I was disappointed because it turned out that the setting of this movie was in the future. From the trailer, I think the main actor can get a device whose technology goes far beyond today's times. But, my disappointment is not long, because it turns out the movie is still cool even though the setting is in the future.

We begin with the introduction of several characters:

Gray is an anti-technology mechanic, ironically he actually married Asha who works at a company that provides advanced technology called Cobolt. And, they live at home all of which are automated.

Eron Keen is a billionaire genius and is the owner of the rival company Cobolt, and is the maker of STEM, a device that will stick to Gray's body and heal Gray from his paralysis.

The story begins with Gray selling his assembled car to Eron, and at home Eronlah Gray and Asha are introduced to STEM, which is immediately responded sarcastically by Gray.

STEM is a tool that can improve and connect the function of the brain with one's motor.

Coming home from Eron's house, Asha's car, which was completely automatic, lost control, they had an accident, and was then attacked by a group of people who killed Asha and shot Gray until paralyzed.

In his grief, Gray accepted Eron's offer to pair STEM to his body.

With one condition, Gray cannot tell anyone about STEM, because the process of installing STEM in humans is still illegal. And if Gray breaks the promise, Eron will turn off the STEM from a distance, and Gray will again be paralyzed.

Apparently, Stem can communicate with Gray without Eron's knowledge and start hunting down his wife's killers one by one. Because the police seem to have no progress in the Asha murder case.

From here there are many funny scenes because Gray who cannot defend himself and is not used to violence just has to let Stem control his body to slaughter his opponents.

As it turned out, the attackers of gray and Asha had some sort of device like Stem on their bodies, made by Cobolt, where Asha worked.

After that Gray was targeted by the police because he was constantly present at the scene of the massacre of Gray's enemies. But Stem can always whisper an alibi to Gray, so the police always fail to trap him.

Eron, who knew that Gray appeared in public, threatened to kill Stem. So, Stem told Gray to meet a hacker to turn off the Eron connection with Stem.

The hacker is named Jaime who has a hidden place and contains people who play VR for days without stopping. Because according to Jaime virtual life is not as painful as real life.

Gray's last opponent is the shooter Asha, telling him that his main target is Gray, and Asha is just an added bonus.

With the help of Stem, Gray got a recording of the conversation proving that the one who gave the order to attack was Eron.

Gray went to Eron's place and was followed by the police. That's when Eron told him that he was actually ordered by Stem, who had been eyeing Gray from the start. Stem also damaged Asha's car navigation system so they had an accident.

Then Stem took over Gray's body completely, killing the policeman and Eron. The original Gray Awareness is placed by Stem in a virtual world which according to Stem is perfect for Gray, which is where Gray just thinks it's all a dream and Asha is still alive.
That's the end of the story!

Well, what about you guys? Do you feel you need an upgrade? Because real life is more painful than in virtual life. At least, that is according to Stem and the hacker, Jaime.
