Connecting Megadeth with Metallica has become obsolete. Although the house band at the Grammy program actually played Metallica when Megadeth received the award.
"I didn't really hear what music was played when I received the award, so I was surprised when someone told me that the house band was playing Metallica's song," said Dave Mustaine, guitarist, and frontman of Megadeth.

Like Iron Maiden which has Eddie as a mascot, Megadeth also has a mascot named Vic Rattlehead, who is also a personification of the censorship symbol, "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil". Vic's looks keep evolving along with the time.

Megadeth is famous as a band that has a guitar duo playing together harmoniously. This prestige remains attached even though Dave often changes other guitarists. This is because Megadeth is about Dave's rhythm and riff.

But then Kiko Loureiro, Brazilian guitarist, joined Megadeth. And this seems to restore Megadeth's life as a band with a guitar duo that has a contrasting but harmonious style. The name Megadeth was again fluttering, and in the end, Megadeth got a Grammy.
